Installing TeamTalk On Your Computer


There are two ways you can get onto TeamTalk on your computer.
First, download the TT File we sent you in your Welcome Aboard Email. Then select it to wherever you downloaded it and press enter on it twice and you will be in the main part of the chat site. Use your down and right arrow keys to navigate the site and press enter on the channel/room you wish to enter.
Second, follow the steps listed below. There are 32 of them in total. However, Step 5 will direct you on which step to skip to if you know how to do part of the instillation process.
Step 1: Using the link above download the TeamTalk server.
Step 2: Install the program making sure you install the accessibility version of TeamTalk.
Step 3: Press the yes, or allow button, to make sure TeamTalk gets put into your firewall.
Step 4: Run the program.
Step 5: If you know how to put in your nickname and set your default speech as push to talk then skip to step 11 to learn how to select your input and output devices. If you know how to do both of those and need to learn what needs to be checked and unchecked under System Events then skip to step 14. Finally, if you know how to do all of that and need to know how to put in the information to log on to All Hands On Deck then skip to step 23.
Step 6: Press F4 and Enter your nickname that you signed up with.
Step 7: Tab six times to where it says "speech transition mode push to talk" and press enter to check the box.
Step 8: Tab once to where it says "speech transition mode set up keys" and press enter to check the box.
Step 9: Immediately press and release whatever key you want to use to get the key while on All Hands On Deck to talk. Most people either use the left or right control keys.
Step 10: Tab twice to where it says "speech transition mode voice activated" and if it is check press enter to uncheck it, if it is unchecked then leave it alone.
Step 11: Press control tab as many times as necessary to get to the sound system tab.
Step 12: Press tab twice to where it says "sound system settings input device" and down arrow until you get to whatever device you are using.
Step 13: Press tab once to where it says "sound system settings output device" and down arrow until you get to whatever device you are using.
Step 14: Press control and tab as many times as necessary to get to the sound events tab.
Step 15: In here you can check the boxes so you can hear things like members joining and leaving the server, joining and leaving the channel. Most of these are whatever setting you wish to leave them on. However, there are a few checkboxes you need to uncheck.
Step 16: Tab once to "sound events treeview user left channel, and then down arrow fourteen times until it says "voice activation trigger" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 17: Press down arrow once until it says "voice activation stopped" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 18: Press down arrow once until it says "enable voice activation" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 19: Press down arrow once until it says "disable voice activation" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 20: Press down arrow once until it says "enable voice activation from Me Menu" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 21: Press down arrow once until it says "disable voice activation from Me Menu" if it is checked press space to uncheck it, if it is unchecked leave it alone.
Step 22: Tab twice to the OK button and press enter.
Step 23: To enter the information to log on to All Hands On Deck press F2.
Step 24: Press tab three times to where it says "host properties host address button" type TTHub.org note that both T's and the H in hub are capital.
Step 25: Press tab twice to where it says "host properties host TCP port" and enter 10057, that is 1, 0, 0, 5, 7, in the edit field.
Step 26: Press tab once to where it says "host properties host UDP port" and enter 10057, that is 1, 0, 0, 5, 7, in the edit field.
Step 27: Press tab twice to where it says "authentication optional user name" this is where you will enter your whole name that you provided to us.
Step 28: Press tab once to where it says "authentication optional passwrod" this is where you will enter ahod all lower case A, H, O D.
Step 29: Tab once to where it says "join channel optional" this is where you could type Jolly Roger, note the J and the R are both capitalized, to enter the Jolly Roger room everytime you join the chat site.
Step 30: Tab five times to where it says "save server information entry name" and put in whatever you want to name the server.
Step 31: Press shift with tab once to where it says "host properties connect button" and press enter to join the site.
Step 32: Unless you entered a channel in Step you will be in the main part of the chat site. Press down arrow twice until it says "main deck" then press right arrow once. Then press down arrow once and it will say "Jolly Roger" press enter on that to enter the Jolly Roger room. Otherwise you can keep pressing down arrow, and right arrow, to explore the chat site.
